Magdalena Ranger District
(Albuquerque, NM – May 19, 2026) - The Cibola National Forest and National Grasslands has terminated the area closure order (03-03-05-26-07) for the Six Mile Fire on the Magdalena Ranger District as of 8:00 a.m. May 19, 2026.
The purpose of this area closure implemented on May 11th was for the protection of health and safety for the public and firefighters during the fire suppression and emergency operations in the surrounding area. The trails described in the closure order are now open for visitor use.
Fire crews will continue to monitor and secure areas of the Six Mile Fire.
This will be the final release on this fire unless conditions or the situation warrants additional information.
