Albuquerque, NM — It's official. The Democratic Party of New Mexico will be deciding their Lieutenant Governor nominee by having their State Central Committee use a rank-choice voting system for the selection process. RPNM releases the following statement:

"The Democratic Party of New Mexico using rank-choice voting to decide its nominee for lieutenant governor is a slap in the face to voters across New Mexico," said Interim Chairman Mike Nelson. "Not only are they rejecting the will of the voters by conducting this 'backroom deal' in secret, but they are strategically doing this with rank-choice voting so they can disenfranchise the candidates they don't want. Calling this a Kamala Harris 2.0 install is an understatement."
