Las Cruces International Film Festival returns April 14-18

New Mexico State University will take center stage next spring as the nation's largest student-run film festival returns to Las Cruces April 14-18.

Marking the festival's 12th anniversary, the Las Cruces International Film Festival announced its 2027 spring arrival. Presented by Nusenda Credit Union, Visit Las Cruces, the City of Las Cruces, Doña Ana County, New Mexico True and Allen Theaters, the festival highlights filmmakers while offering screenings, educational programming, networking and special events.

The festival is expected to attract more than 12,000 people to Las Cruces to watch between 150-200 full-length features, short films, animation and music videos.

Organized by the Creative Media Institute at NMSU, the Las Cruces International Film Festival welcomes not only filmmakers, but actors, producers, directors, students and film enthusiasts from around the world. The five-day event features film screenings, educational panels, hands-on workshops, networking opportunities and exclusive events that celebrate the art and business of filmmaking.

In previous years, the film festival hosted many well-known and acclaimed industry figures, like Michael Rooker, best known for his role in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and Steve Zahn, who is critically acclaimed for his comedic work. Bringing industry professionals directly to Las Cruces offers attendees rare, firsthand insight into the entertainment world.

If you are a filmmaker or simply have a love for the process and community, the Las Cruces International Film Festival offers a platform to share your work or connect with like-minded individuals. Film submissions are currently in progress and additional information regarding festival programming, special guests, ticket sales and special events will be announced in the coming months.
