New Mexico State University will host Aggie Remembrance Day, a celebration of life honoring members of the NMSU community who died during the academic school year, Friday, May 1.
Aggie Remembrance Day is a long-standing NMSU Student Life tradition and an opportunity for campus to gather together to reflect, share memories and celebrate those lost between April 15, 2025, and April 15, 2026. The ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. at Corbett Center Student Union, third-floor ballrooms.
The ceremony is open to the NMSU community and the public. The program includes guest speakers, reading of the names of the Aggie students, faculty, staff and alumni who have died and the ringing of the memorial bell. Light refreshments will be available.
"Aggie Remembrance Day honors the lasting contributions of the NMSU community while offering connection and comfort to family members and loved ones," said interim Assistant Vice President for Student Involvement and Leadership Programs Michelle Grandjean.
Online RSVP is encouraged and available at the Aggie Remembrance Day webpage. The ceremony will be available virtually on Zoom.
The Office of the Dean of Students and Student Involvement and Leadership Programs, in partnership with the NMSU Foundation, lead the coordination of the ceremony.
