The US men's national team had a pretty good result in the World Cup tournament. The men lost in the round of 16 which is the furthest they've made it in a long time. The prize money they earned netted each member of the team about $500,000. However, they will only get half of that. The governing body for United States soccer had previously reached an agreement with the women's national team to split the men's earnings equally between the two teams. The decision was made to stop the temper tantrum being thrown by the women's team because they made significantly less than the men. To be fair, men's soccer brings in about $4 billion in revenue while the women's tournament brings in about $300 million. The women were actually paid a higher percentage than the men. But their temper tantrum was successful. Now, the men will get to share in whatever the women earn during their World Cup tournament. So, they'll probably get about $40,000. That's equity for you.

Will Graham Plattner drop out of the race? I think it's a 50/ 50 proposition. He has suspended his campaign and posted on social media that they will file the paperwork to withdraw from the race on Monday. That's the deadline. If he doesn't drop out by then, he stays on the ballot. I think he has just enough of an ego to stay in the race. The sad thing is, I believe he has a chance to win, despite all of the horrible allegations made against him. Here's the kicker: his campaign staff called all of his old girlfriends late last year when some of these rumors began to appear. They knew what Ms. Racicot was going to say if she said anything. They must have thought she was going to stay quiet. Let's not forget their first reaction to her allegations was to deny them categorically. Don't think the Dems will be stressed if he does stay in and win. As Bernie said, we just need a body to retake control of the Senate.

Is Mitch McConnell dead or in a coma? That's the big question, but don't turn to CNN if you want a serious answer. During a panel discussion on Tuesday, the Clinton News Network, showed several social media posts from people like Scott Jennings claiming he had spoken to Mitch for about 20 minutes and discussed several issues. Republican Representative Jack Kimble, representing California's 54th district, was also quoted claiming to have spoken to Mitch for about 45 minutes. Some of you may have caught this quickly. California only has 52 districts. Jack Kimble is a parody social media account created in 2009 to make fun of Republican politicians. But he was discussed as if he was a viable realistic source. If you haven't seen the social media post, you need to read it. It's funny.

An estimated 27,000,000 black people are still owned as slaves today, mostly in African or Muslim countries. How come liberals aren't complaining about this at all?

Capitalism works. No doubt you have heard all of the hand wringing over the data super centers that will eat up electricity and need copious amounts of water to remain cool. Elon Musk will put his data centers in space where there is a limitless supply of solar energy and no need for any kind of cooling system. A company named Panthalassa is going to put their data centers in the ocean. They have developed a floating buoy that generates electricity as it bobs up and down in the water. And ocean water will be pumped through the structures to cool the servers. No pollution. No effect upon the electricity rates for the consumer. Just two entrepreneurs that saw a problem and came up with a way to solve it.

You know our summer was six weeks with no plan and a bicycle. Maybe one week at vacation Bible school or summer camp but beyond that there was no schedule, no asking mom what we're going to do today. Just get back before dark and a threat vague enough to cover everything else. We drank from the hose; we ate things that fell off trees without asking permission; we navigated entirely by the vibe of the day and only changed our plans when we heard the sound of our mother's whistle. Somehow, we survived and we had a lot of fun. We also learned a lot about getting along in life. Is it any wonder that these past couple of generations are offended by almost everything that happens to them?
