A first-time event held on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, 2026 was created by Patricia and Guadalupe Cano as a traditional Mexican ceremony of Days of the Dead. Los Dias de Muerto, with the explanation of Vida, Muerte y Tradición - life, death and tradition.

The event was held on Hudson Street on Saturday, October. 31, and featured music and dance,  food vendors, , retail and artisan vendors, many ofrendas, which are altars honoring  the memories of deceased family and friends. The Mountain Horse Singers and drummers presented Intertribal songs for the event. Masked dancers in costumes and traditional ceremonial attire danced down Hudson Street and back, and were blessed with a traditional tribal ceremony.

On Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, All Souls' Day, a Vida, Muerte y Tradición performance took place at the WNMU Find Arts Theater, with  pageant contestants, a family ofrenda, special songs and dances honoring deceased Grant Countians, followed by a professional performance by Mariachi Reyes Coronado and Ballet Folklórico from El Paso, Texas.
