Misty A. Trujillo is seeking re-election as Grant County Assessor to continue her service leading the Assessor's Office with fairness, transparency, and commitment to the residents and property owners of Grant County.

Misty Trujillo is a long-time resident of Silver City, New Mexico, and a dedicated public servant with deep roots in our community. Misty is work oriented and spends all her time at her office constantly working on the assessor's annual calendar projects. She has worked in the Grant County Assessor's Office since 2006, steadily advancing through key roles including data entry, appraiser, Chief Appraiser, and Deputy Assessor before being elected Assessor. Her experience gives her a strong foundation in both the technical and community aspects of property assessment.

In January 2023, Misty began her current term as the elected Assessor of Grant County, representing the interests of taxpayers and ensuring that property valuations are fair, equitable, and in compliance with New Mexico law. Her term runs through December 2026 and she is now seeking the trust of voters to continue in this role.

Misty's leadership in the Assessor's Office has focused on providing excellent customer service and clear communication to property owners. Ensuring fair and equitable property assessments in accordance with state standards, maintaining compliance with the State of New Mexico's Property Tax Division evaluation, and completing annual reviews of property values and improvements in departmental processes. Encouraging residents to take advantage of available exemptions and valuation freezes for seniors, head-of-household exemptions, and disabled veterans' exemptions.

When re-elected, Misty Trujillo will continue to support ALL property owners by ensuring accurate and understandable assessments, enhance outreach and education on property tax exemptions and valuation processes, and professionalism in county government.
