NuestraTierraNuestra Tierra Conservation Project

A community film festival featuring stories about the Gila River, conservation, and people working to protect wild places and waters.

Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The Seedboat Collective, 214 W. Yankie Street, Silver City, NM 88061

To celebrate the places and waters that sustain our communities and inspire support for efforts to protect the Gila River and surrounding region.

Event Description:

The featured films will explore the Gila River's beauty and history, the challenges facing wild places and waters, and the people working to protect them. These stories of resilience and community-led action connect conservation efforts across the country with work happening here in southwest New Mexico.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with legislative champions about what comes next for the Gila and how community members can get involved. Food and drinks will be available.

A digital pass is also available for those unable to attend in person, providing access to the films from August 22 through midnight on August 28.
