Dave Hawkins, Principal Hydrogeologist, Barranca Group, LLCThe Rotary Club of Silver City will present "Water Supply Development in Latin America," a talk by hydrogeologist Dave Hawkins, on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at noon in the Gila Regional Medical Center Conference Room. The event is free and open to the public.
Hawkins brings more than 40 years of experience with water issues across the intermountain West, northern Mexico, and other regions around the world. His talk will draw on that experience to examine the challenges and methods of developing reliable water supplies in Latin America.
Over his career, Hawkins has worked in hydrologic modeling, supervised water quality monitoring programs, directed large-scale drilling programs for water supply development, and developed water supplies for both potable and industrial use.
From 1986 to 2000, Hawkins served as Principal Hydrogeologist for Groundwater Resources Consultants, Inc., of Tucson, Arizona. Since 2001, he has been owner and Principal Hydrogeologist of Barranca Group, LLC.
