Silver City, NM – TheActrix Studio invites actors, comedians, singers, and lovers of classic television to step back into the fabulous 1950s for its fall fundraiser production of Murder Is on the Air, a hilarious theatrical murder mystery by Jack Pachuta.

Set in 1957, when Elvis ruled the radio, poodle skirts filled the dance floor, and television was becoming America's newest obsession, Murder Is on the Air takes audiences behind the scenes of the nation's number one live sitcom, The Lizzie Show. As cameras prepare to roll, tempers flare, rivalries simmer, and before the evening is over...someone winds up dead.

Filled with larger-than-life personalities inspired by the golden age of television, the production promises an evening of comedy, mystery, and nostalgic fun.

The performance will be presented Friday, October 23 at the Business Convention Center as a fundraiser benefiting the Gila Regional Medical Center Foundation Board, with additional encore performances under consideration to help support the cast and crew.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. No monologue or prepared material is necessary.

The production is particularly looking for actors interested in two scene-stealing roles:

Zack LaPaine – A smooth-talking, charismatic television personality with undeniable star power. His product, "Vegitol, the tonic that boosts fatigued corpuscles," sponsors The Lizzie Show. He is a health nut and exercise aficionado. Think classic leading man with quick wit, confidence, and impeccable timing.

Ricardo Montalanto – He's a movie actor and heartthrob who makes women swoon and men furious. He only agreed to appear on the show so that he could promote his new movie, One Angry Man, which premieres in theaters tomorrow. He's good at swashbuckling, but horrible at comedy.
