FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY BOOK SALE

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2026

The Silver City Friends of the Library (FOL) is holding its September Book Sale on Saturday, September 12, at the FOL Bookstore, 1510 Market Street, from 10:00am-2:00pm.  The public is invited.

Current members of FOL are invited to the Members' Hour between 9:00 and 10:00am, prior to the Sale's opening to the public.  Memberships may be renewed or new memberships obtained at the Booksale gate on the day of the sale.

Hardback and trade paperback books are priced at $1.00 each and paperbacks at $0.50 each. In some cases, books may be priced higher. Weather permitting, clearance item sales take place in the FOL parking lot where visitors can purchase a bag of books (special bags are provided in the parking lot) at $2.00 per bag. There is no limit on the number of bags a visitor can buy.

"Jump start your 2026 Autumn reading adventures with us," said Barbara Guber, FOL Bookstore manager. "Inside the Bookstore, our volunteer staff has consolidated our unique Art Book collection, and it's displayed in the corner room behind our fiction section.  Consider giving a gift of a stunning  art book for your favorite artist…or for you.

Throughout the summer, we received wonder-filled donations allowing us to add new items to all areas of the Bookstore.   The fiction section itself is large, varied, and many of the most popular fiction authors' work are sorted into their own areas to make it easier to find that one book you've been searching for."

"The Historical Fiction, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Young Adult, Horror, Mystery, Thriller, Classics, Literature and all the non-Fiction collections are refreshed with new selections," Guber continued.  "And out in the parking lot-- So many tables!  So many books!   For only $2.00, you can fill a bag (provided by FOL) until it bursts its seams.  And there's no limit on the number of bags!"

The Friends of the Silver City Library invite the public to come and spend a lovely September morning and early afternoon, perusing and finding treasures among its vast collection of books and other media, all donated through the generosity of Grant County residents.

The Friends of the Library accepts donations of books from the public and uses these to raise funds to support the Silver City Library's programs and activities. Donations can be placed in the Friends of the Library donation bins outside the Silver City Library main door. These are located to the right of the library's bin for returning Library books. And remember, you don't have to be a member of FOL to attend the sale and purchase books.
