Arlen Lazar and Archi PadillaOctober 25, at 10 am, 3845 North Swan Street – "NM BARC – New Mexico Borderland Animal Rescue Coalition"
An NMBARC team will discuss the history, mission, and work of NMBARC to establish No Kill in southwest New Mexico and beyond. NMBARC is not an animal shelter, it has a network of volunteers who foster animals until they can be adopted. Their Good Neighbor program helps our lower-income neighbors with assistance for food, vet care, and more.
Archi Padilla is a retired Human Resources executive who returned to her hometown in 2008 after living in Los Angeles for 30 years. She began volunteering with the Hurley Shelter in 2013 after learning about the poor kennel conditions where local dogs were being housed.
Emma Eileen McKinleySince leaving the shelter, Padilla has continued supporting animals throughout the mining district by delivering straw in winter, improving outdoor kennels with tarps and dog houses, and assisting with spay/neuter services, vaccines, veterinary care, pet rehoming, and cremation support. She has been bringing more than a decade of animal care and rescue experience, along with more than two decades of executive leadership experience. She now serves as President of NM BARC.
Padilla will be joined by Arlen Lazar, founder of BARC, and Emma Eileen McKinley, a volunteer.
All ages are welcome to attend the Sunday program.
