Curtis "Curt" Beerens, 69, of Mimbres, NM, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 17, 2026. He was born on March 30, 1957, in Cadillac, Michigan. He is survived by his loving wife, Pam; his children, Renee (Apple) McNary, Josh, Tina, Kelly (Kenny) Souza, Adam (Annamarie Tury), Shannon (Navy Man); his grandchildren, Emma, Yazmine, Amoni, Gracilyn, Myah, Kobe, and KC (Kennelly); his siblings Cindy Joslin, Phil (Nancy) Beerens, Scott (Sue) Beerens, and Vicki (Brad) Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Laurdean Beerens, a son, Keegan, and his parents-in-law, William and Nora Warrilow.
Curt was an EMT and Paramedic in Michigan for many years before moving to Arizona in 2004. There he earned his RN license, and his BSN and MSN degrees. He worked as the Emergency Department Director in several hospitals in Arizona and New Mexico. For the past five years he has been a Nurse Manager at Ft. Bayard Medical Center in Santa Clara, NM.
Con profundo amor y respeto, despedimos a José Sánchez Petit, quien partió en paz el lunes 5 de enero de 2026, a la edad de 82 años. Nació en Venezuela el 19 de marzo de 1943, y desde muy joven se distinguió por ser una persona brillante, curiosa y apasionada por el estudio y el aprendizaje. Siempre tuvo un genuino interés por conocer de todo un poco, cualidad que lo acompañó durante toda su vida y que inspiró a quienes lo rodeaban.
A los 24 años contrajo matrimonio con, Beatriz Sánchez Sosa, con quien construyó un matrimonio sólido, lleno de dedicación y cariño. Juntos formaron una familia unida, y fueron bendecidos con cuatro hijos: José, Beatriz, Estrella y Alexandra, quienes siempre encontraron en él un padre presente y sabio.
A lo largo de su vida, José fue un pilar fundamental para toda la familia. Su historia también incluye su servicio en la Marina de los Estados Unidos, una etapa que reflejó su disciplina, compromiso y sentido del deber. Más allá de sus logros, fue su calidad humana lo que dejó una huella imborrable en todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.

John Herschel Rives Jr., 85, a resident of Deming passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was born October 25, 1940 in Shreveport, Louisiana to John Herschal Rives Sr. and Margaret Varner.
Services for John will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026 at Baca's Funeral Chapel beginning with a viewing from 10 o'clock in the morning till 10:45. He will then be laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery in Deming, New Mexico.
He is survived by his 3 siblings David Rives, Sylvia Beckver and Maragret Rose Rives.

With great sadness, on April 26,2026. Geraldine (Gerri) Harp fell asleep in death at the Mountain View Hospital in Las Cruces, N.M. We love and miss her very much!
Gerri was born April 24,1932 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A twin to Otis Allen Beaman and Iva Lillian Beaman.
She is survived by her daughters Deborah Chabra (Don) and Marjorie Harp, and her son Michael Harp. (Whereabouts Unknown).
Grandchildren: Jennifer Chabra, Stephen Chabra, Timothy Chabra, Tonya Estrada, Melissa Guia (George), and Katie Johnson.
Great-Grandchildren: Briana Pastran, Zachery Stewart, Hunter Stewart, Alexander, Stephen, and Carter Chabra, Xavier Marmolejo, Shelby Malott, Micah and Leilah Hernandez.
Great-Great Granddaughter: Anika Gant.

Margarita Ojeda Rodriguez

Margarita Ojeda Rodriguez passed away peacefully on May 05, 2026 at the age of 73 in her home in Columbus, New Mexico.
She was born on October 17,1952 in Santa Maria del Oro, Durango, Mexico to Jose Domingo Ojeda and Maria Cleofas Salgado. Margarita moved to the United States when she was 14 years old. She met the love of her life Tino in California in 1974, and they married in Mexico on April 19, 1975. They continued to live in California and had 4 children before moving to New Mexico in 1994 where they were later blessed with another child in 1997. Margarita was a loving wife and mother who endured various trials in life. She will be remembered for her strength, her faith in God, and her love and kindness.
She enjoyed visits from her grandchildren, spending time with all who came to visit her, sharing "un cafe y panecito." She dedicated her life to her family, her community and her career as a home healthcare worker before retiring.
