The Village of Santa Clara Discussed Committee Report Updates and two Resolutions at the August 27, 2020, Regular Session Meeting

On August 27, 2020, the Village of Santa Clara met for a regular meeting through Zoom at 6:00 p.m. at the Village of Santa Clara town hall. Mayor Richard Bauch, Trustee Olga Amador, Trustee Patricia Montgomery, and Trustee Arnold Lopez were present for the meeting. Mayor Pro-Tem Albert Esparza was absent for the meeting.
The meeting began with the approval of the agenda for the meeting, the minutes for the regular meeting held on August 13, 2020.
Another pit bull attack

On Thursday, Sept, 10, 2020, at about 10:44 a.m., Silver City police officers responded to a dog bite complaint at 1601 N. Alabama Street. According to a SCPD incident report, a female caller to Grant County Regional Dispatch Authority advised that two women, one elderly, had been attacked by a dog, and the dog was locked in a room.
While officers assisted EMS with the elderly (79 years-of-age) victim's injuries, caller stated to the officers she was at her residence next door to the address when the next door neighbor, Lisa Sosaya, 40, of the address, ran to caller's residence asking for help because she and the elderly victim were attacked by a dog.

SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials on Sunday announced 103 additional COVID-19 cases. Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are:

10 new cases in Doña Ana County
5 new cases in Eddy County
1 new case in Grant County
14 new cases in Lea County

Grisham and Team Continue to Support Families as Numbers Improve 091020

Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham started the most recent press conference by relaying the updated COVID-19 case information for New Mexico. "Our rolling seven-day average is the lowest since mid-March which is incredibly good news," she said. She turned over the conference to Dr. David Scrase of the Human Services Department to review modeling trends.
Scrase reiterated the significant drop in the rolling seven-day average. He congratulated New Mexicans on their efforts. "We don't get to our best numbers if people aren't wearing masks, avoiding large gatherings, and keeping their hands and surfaces clean," he said.
