The monthly meeting of PFLAG will focus on July 4th celebration preparations, including a poster-making party, Once again, PFLAG Silver City, along with LGBTQ Grant County and allies,  will be marching in the July 4th parade in Silver City.  Marchers are encouraged to create a sign to carry in the parade that expresses their support for their LGBTQ+ family, friends and fellow Americans.  The theme for this year's parade is "This Land Belongs to You and Me."  PFLAG will provide poster-making materials at the meeting, but participants are welcome to bring their own.

In recognition of the 250th anniversary of American Independence, the Fort Bayard Historic Preservation Society is pleased to announce a weekly film series that will run from May 14 through June 25.  The series, entitled "Crucible of Liberty: The American Revolution in Film", will be shown on Thursday evenings at the Santa Clara Armory Building, located across US Highway 180 from the Village of Santa Clara, next to Dollar General and Open Space Brewery.    Doors open at 6 p.m. with programs starting at 6:30 p.m.  Admission is free, donations are accepted.
