Mario Jaquez, 66, of Silver City, passed away from cancer on September 14, 2025, at Del Sol Hospital in El Paso, Texas, with his family by his side.
Born on June 14, 1959, in Hawthorne, California, to Guadalupe (Lupe) and Frank (known to many as Junior) Jaquez, Mario was a man of quiet strength, kindness, and devotion to his loved ones. He built a life filled with love alongside his wife, Andrea, and took great pride in his family. His roles as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and tio brought him his greatest joy.
Mario cherished the view of his land and spent countless hours on his deck, quietly enjoying the beauty and peace around him.
He is survived by his wife, Andrea; his children, Elisabeth and Joseph; his stepchildren, Kerri Pennings and Randy Wareberg; his sisters, Doreen, Diane, and Irene; his 4 grandsons; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also remembered with love by extended family and all those whose lives he touched.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at Del Sol Hospital for their support and comfort during his final days.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
Mario will be remembered for his generous spirit, sneaky smile, and the deep love he shared with his family, and his appreciation for life's simple joys. He will be deeply missed.
