In Loving Memory of Ruth "Fina" Ortiz Jurado
Ruth "Fina" Ortiz Jurado, 69, passed away on July 27, 2025, at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on June 22, 1956, in Silver City, New Mexico.
Fina loved her kids, grandkids, and family with all her heart. She was an amazing and dedicated mama who worked hard to provide for her family and took great pride in her work. She spent most of her life in food service, working at the Red Barn for about eight years and later providing dietary services at Gila Regional Medical Center for more than 20 years.
She shared countless memories with her husband David, especially watching their Dallas Cowboys play together. They also shared a deep love for music, and Fina was rarely without her mp3 player close by. She enjoyed the simple joys of life, including watching funny cat videos — her laughter while watching them is something we will deeply miss.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her beloved husband, David Jurado Sr.; her grandson, Cesear Hernandez; and her father, Macedonio "Mace" Gonzales.
She is survived by her sons; David Jurado Jr. (Francine) of Silver City, NM, Carlos Jurado (companion-Virginia Vigil) of Las Cruces, NM, Rene Jurado (Melissa) of Arenas Valley, NM, and Javier Jurado (Bertha) of Silver City, NM; her daughters, Estela Jurado of Silver City, NM and Irene Jurado of Silver City, NM; her twenty-two grandchildren; Rene Jr, Dominic, Sergio, Justin, Gabriel, Emma, Alejandro, Cruzito, Esperanza, Carlos Jr., Fernando David, Dimitri, Breanna, David III, D'Anna, Ysabelle, Giovanni, Luis, Mikey, Alicia, Jaime and Roman; her mother, Margarita (Joaquin) Acevedo, brothers Robert Gonzales, Macedonio "Mace" Gonzales, and Joseph (Rose) Gonzales, and sisters Joanne Legarda (Ernest) and Patricia Abeyta. She is also survived by a special niece whom she considered as one of her own, Sophia Tapscott (Justin), and their two children Justin and Ondie.
Fina's kind heart and warmth will be deeply missed by her many children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would also like to give a special thank you to Rosie for her love and support. Her love, laughter, and generosity will live on forever in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. She lived with love, she left us memories, and her spirit will guide us always.
