Silver City, NM — As Executive Director of the Gila Community Foundation, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who made Give Grandly 2025 a success so far—our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and the 67 local nonprofits that work tirelessly to uplift Southwest New Mexico.

Thanks to your generosity, we’ve raised over $178,000 from 1000 donors and counting. This level of community participation shows how deeply people care about the wellbeing and resilience of our region. I especially want to thank our incredible matching fund sponsors—Janey and Suzi, Southwest New Mexico United Way, SunZia/Pattern Energy, Gila Community Foundation, First American Bank, Edward Jones, Century21, the McKinney Family, Grant County Title Company, and 1st New Mexico Bank—for helping us secure $33,000 in matching gifts.

But our work isn’t done. Give Grandly remains open for donations through May 17 at www.givegrandly.org.
We are at a critical crossroads for local nonprofits. In light of federal funding cuts, a volatile stock market, and rising economic uncertainty, nonprofit organizations are navigating tremendous instability. At the same time, the demand for their services—from food security to youth programming, from housing to arts and culture—is higher than ever. Some local organizations are facing job losses and budget constraints. Others are at risk of scaling back vital services.

Now more than ever, local philanthropy is a powerful act of community resilience. Every dollar given helps ensure that nonprofits can continue to serve, adapt, and grow through these uncertain times.

If you haven’t yet made your gift, I invite you to join us. Whether it's $10 or $1,000, your support fuels real impact right here in our community. Please visit givegrandly.org.

With gratitude and hope,
Jamie Sechrist
