The Bayard City Council will conduct a work session at 5:30 p.m. and a Regular Meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022 at the Bayard City Hall. Attendance of City Council members may be in person or virtually via Zoom. Items on the agenda relate to old and new business matters. The Grant County Board of Commissioners will convene in a Special Meeting on Monday, June 13, 2022, at 8:30 a.m. The meeting will take place in the Commission Meeting Room at the Grant County Administration Center located at 1400 Highway 180 East, Silver City, NM 88061.  The agenda for this meeting may be altered up to seventy-two (72) hours prior to the meeting; copies can be obtained from the County Manager's Office or viewed online at www.grantcountynm.gov If you are an individual with a disability in need of a reader, amplifier, qualified sign language interpreter or any other form of auxiliary aide or service to attend or participate in the hearing or meeting, please contact the Grant County Manager at 1400 Highway 180 East, Silver City, New Mexico at least one (1) week prior to the meeting or as soon as possible. Grant County approved ordinance on May 24, 2022 that names bans and restrictions on fireworks

LEGAL NOTICE 

 Proclamation P-2022-02

Pursuant to Grant County Proclamation P-2022-02 which was Approved and Adopted on May 24, 2022 by the Grant County Board of Commissioners; the following bans and restrictions have been enacted:

1) The sale and use of missile type rockets, helicopters, aerial spinners, stick type rockets, and ground audible devices within Grant County are prohibited, except that sales by "specialty retailers" along a federal interstate highway to non-residents of Grant County are permissible as expressly provided by Section 3(A)(3) of Grant County Ordinance Number 01-05-10(A).

2) Fireworks not listed in Paragraph 1 and expressly permitted in the Fireworks Licensing & Safety Act may only be used in areas that are paved, are barren, or have readily accessible sources of water for use by the public.

3) The use of all fireworks in wildlands and on County owned public property are strictly prohibited.

Bayard seeks applicants for full-time police officer

Certified and Un-Certified Police Officers
Starting Pay for Certified $24.00 hour
Un-Certified $18.00 hour

The City of Bayard is accepting applications for the position of a full-time Police Officer (Certified and Un-Certified). Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and certification as a police officer by the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy or enrollment of law enforcement program. Applicants must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Applicant must possess a valid New Mexico driver's license. Applicant must be free of physical impairments that would prevent performance of duties. Applicants will undergo thorough background investigations, interviews and psychological testing, as well as a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. Fringe benefits include annual and sick leave, group health insurance paid 100% and PERA retirement.

Attendance of City Council members may be in person or virtually via Zoom.  Items on the agenda relate approval of the 2023 Fiscal Budget and Closed Executive Session pursuant to 10-15-1 (H-2) NMSA 1978 for limited personnel matter relating to Maintenance Department Employees.  The agenda may be altered up to seventy-two (72) hours prior to the meeting; copies can be obtained from the City Clerk’s Office or viewed online at www.cityofbayardnm.com.  

The public is invited to attend.  If you are an individual with a disability who is in need of a reader, amplifier, qualified sign language interpreter, or any other form of auxiliary aid or service to attend or participate in the hearing or meeting, please contact the city clerk at 800 Central Avenue (537-3327) at least one week prior to the meeting or as soon as possible.
