Pursuant to Grant County Proclamation P-2022-02 which was Approved and Adopted on May 24, 2022 by the Grant County Board of Commissioners; the following bans and restrictions have been enacted:
1) The sale and use of missile type rockets, helicopters, aerial spinners, stick type rockets, and ground audible devices within Grant County are prohibited, except that sales by "specialty retailers" along a federal interstate highway to non-residents of Grant County are permissible as expressly provided by Section 3(A)(3) of Grant County Ordinance Number 01-05-10(A).
2) Fireworks not listed in Paragraph 1 and expressly permitted in the Fireworks Licensing & Safety Act may only be used in areas that are paved, are barren, or have readily accessible sources of water for use by the public.
3) The use of all fireworks in wildlands and on County owned public property are strictly prohibited.

The City of Bayard is accepting applications for the position of a full-time Police Officer (Certified and Un-Certified). Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and certification as a police officer by the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy or enrollment of law enforcement program. Applicants must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Applicant must possess a valid New Mexico driver's license. Applicant must be free of physical impairments that would prevent performance of duties. Applicants will undergo thorough background investigations, interviews and psychological testing, as well as a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
