JJ Amaworo Wilson will discuss his new novel, Nazaré, at The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Silver City. The novel was inspired by the Arab Spring and other movements for social justice. The book has been described by U.S. Poet Laureate Emeritus Juan Felipe Herrera thus: “I celebrate “Nazaré” for its power, tenderness, and transcendence. A rare, ground-shaking novel,” and by American Book Award winner Daniel Chacón: “This brilliant novel will earn JJ Amaworo Wilson a spotlight on the main stage of world fiction.”

JJ Amaworo Wilson is a German-born Anglo-Nigerian-American writer. His 2016 novel, Damnificados, won four awards and was an Oprah Top Ten pick. His plays have been produced on four continents. Shorter work has appeared in African American Journal, Justice Journal, The New York Journal of Books, IC3: The Penguin Book of New Black Writing in Britain, and numerous other journals and anthologies in the UK and U.S. Amaworo Wilson has lived in eleven countries and visited seventy. He is the author or co-author of twenty books, and he currently serves as the writer-in-residence at Western New Mexico University.

Wilson will sell and sign copies at the end of the program.
