Table Read - Exit Laughing
Sunday 9/14, 3-5 pm
Avalon Bookstore
405 N Bullard St.
When the biggest highlight of your life for the past thirty years has been your weekly card night out with the girls, what do you do when one of your foursomes inconveniently dies? If you're Connie, Leona, and Millie, three southern ladies from Birmingham, you do the most daring thing you've ever done. You "borrow" the ashes from the funeral home for one last card game, and the wildest, most exciting night of their lives begins with a police raid, a stripper, laughs, and a whole new way of looking at all the fun you can have when you're truly living.

One Minute Playwriting Workshop
Thursday 10/9, 1-3pm
Otter Chaos
208 W. Yankie
Come join us at Otter Chaos Thursday October 9, from 1-3 pm for a One Minute Playwriting workshop. One minute plays are challenging and fun to write. Playwrights will be invited to write TWO or THREE one minute plays (strictly one minute) on one relevant topic in the community. It can be: like how to protest in peace, how to deal with crime, social media issues and problems, bullying, why don't people read anymore, road rage, police brutality, why we hate other people, anything like that. Each play will need a beginning, middle and end. Genres can be comedy, satire, irony, tragedy, heartache, anger and/or rage. To reserve your spot just drop me a line at
