Interstates:

Date St. Business Loop Roundabout Project, T or C CN1101231/32

La Calerita LLC. (Contractor)continues project finalization for the I-25 Business Loop Reconstruction Project in Truth or Consequences. Lasting for about three weeks, through Monday, April 22, 2024, the northbound lane of North Date Street will be closed from just above the parking lot to the Sierra County Government Building to the second roundabout. There will also be occasional closures of the northbound lanes at the second roundabout. Northbound traffic on Date Street can use East 9th Ave to North Silver Street to Silver Street to Smith Street as a detour. Northbound traffic on Date Street can access New School Road by taking Barton Street to North Pershing Street. We apologize for the inconvenience. Motorists are encouraged to use extra caution in the construction zone, obey lower posted speed limits and allow extra time to reach their destinations. Regular work hours will be 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends as needed.

I-25 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Hatch CN1101024

Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) has completed the roadway rehabilitation project on Interstate 25 (I-25) from milepost 34(Rincon) to milepost 41(NM 26/Hatch). Various intermittent lane closures may be in place during normal working hours to complete project finalization and cleanup. Please reduce your speed and obey traffic control devices. Roadway will be restricted to 12-foot for oversized loads. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the possibility of some weekend work.

I-25 Bridge Replacement Project, Williamsburg CN1100990

El Terrero Construction, LLC. (Contractor) will be continuing construction to replace the bridge at I-25 milepost 75, Broadway Street and NM 187 in Williamsburg. Beginning Wednesday, April 24, 2024, I-25 Northbound will be closed at Exit 75. Northbound traffic is to use the newly constructed off- and on-ramps to continue moving north. The closure will take place during regular working hours for the construction crew. Traffic has been shifted into the northbound lanes with the on/off ramps open, access to the southbound on/off ramps is still closed. Currently crews are working on installation of southbound on/off ramps, bridge, and drainage structures. Regular work hours will be 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends as needed. Access will be maintained to all businesses and residences during construction.

I-25 Erosion Control, Mile Markers 35.2, 35.58, 39.24, 42.58, & 43.27 Hatch/Rincon

Kimo Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will begin work on erosion control along I-25 between Rincon and Hatch. The contractor will be working on the southbound off ramp and Rincon (exit 35) and near milepost 43, I-25 may be reduced to a single lane depending on the work location, drivers should be vigilant for construction signing.  The contractor’s hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

I-25 Guardrail Replacement Project, Mile Marker 159 to 175, Socorro

J-H Supply, Co. (Contractor) will be continuing a guardrail and end treatment project along I-25 in Socorro County from milepost 159 to 175. Motorists can expect lane closures in the southbound lane from milepost 175-171. Overnight lane closures should be expected. The hours of operation are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Construction is expected to be completed by Spring 2024. 

I-25 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 150 to 161, north of Socorro

Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) has completed the roadway rehabilitation project on Interstate 25 from milepost 150 (Socorro North) to milepost 161 (Chamizal). No traffic impacts at this time. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

I-25 Landscaping Project, Mile Marker 2.5 to 3.7, Las Cruces LC00360

Grass Masters LLC (Contractor) is continuing a landscaping, curb and gutter, miscellaneous construction, and paving project along I-25 from milepost 3 to milepost 3.7 near Lohman Ave in Las Cruces. Crews will be working on the wall foundations and wall footing along the I-25 northbound and southbound interchange and on/off ramp. Most construction will be on the shoulders with little impact to travelers. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

I-10 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 0 to 15, Lordsburg CN1102080

Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) has begun the roadway rehabilitation project on Interstate 10 from milepost 0 (Arizona Stateline) to milepost 15 (Gary) in Hidalgo County. Drivers can expect various daytime lane closures on both the eastbound and westbound lanes as needed for milling and paving operations. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Overnight lanes closures may be in place for the replacement of the guardrail and concrete wall barrier.

US Roadways:

US 70 Roadway Rehabilitation, Las Cruces

El Terrero Construction, LLC. (Contractor) is continuing a project to make roadway improvements to US 70 North Main Street between Spitz/N. Solano Drive and the intersection of N. Triviz Drive/Elks Drive. Crews have closed the righthand lane of eastbound US 70 North Main Street from Temple Street to North Triviz Drive for crews to begin reconstructing driveways, providing access to businesses on the east side of the road. Where businesses have access through only one driveway, crews will work on one-half of the driveway at a time. Where businesses have access through two driveways, crews will work on one driveway, then move to the other after completing the first driveway. Construction of each driveway will last about 3-5 days. For the safety of the traveling public, the Alameda Arroyo trail crossing remains CLOSED. Traffic on the east side of US 70 North Main has one lane open from North Solano Drive to North Triviz Drive. Traffic in the area of the Alameda Arroyo is moved to the west side of the road with one lane in each direction. The speed limit is reduced to 35 miles per hour throughout the construction zone. Motorists are encouraged to use extra caution in the construction zone, obey lower posted speed limits and allow extra time to reach their destinations. Regular work hours are Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-5 p.m., although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends if needed. US 70 Roadway Rehabilitation, Las Cruces

Mesa Verde Enterprises, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing the roadway rehabilitation project on US 70 from Del Rey Blvd. to Nasa Rd. just east of Las Cruces. Crews are removing and replacing outdated guardrail, curb & gutter from Nasa Rd., working west towards Las Cruces. Working hours will be from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m., Sunday through Friday. Once complete, crews will then shift into paving operations and will begin the mill and inlay process. Working nighttime hours will be from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday to Friday.  Traffic control and lanes closures will be in place for the safety of our crews and the traveling public during working hours.

State Roadways:

NM 359 Bridge Rehabilitation, Mesilla

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) will continue the bridge rehabilitation project on NM 359 at milepost 1.90 over the Rio Grande.  Drivers are asked to please obey traffic control devices if placed and be on the lookout for workers and/or equipment entering and exiting the roadway, various lanes closures may be in place as needed. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

NM 26 Bridge Rehabilitation, Hatch

La Calerita Construction (Contractor) will continue with bridge rehabilitation work on NM 26 at milepost 47.7 over Interstate 25. NM 26 eastbound/westbound lanes may be closed daily for bridge repairs, a detour will be in place.  I-25 may have occasional lanes closures in either the northbound or southbound lanes. Daily working hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.

NM 157 Bridge Rehabilitation, Radium Springs

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) will begin working on a bridge rehabilitation project on NM 157 at milepost 0.1 over the Leasburg Canal.  The majority of the work will take place under and around the bridge, with no traffic impacts expected.  Drivers are asked to please obey traffic control devices if placed and be on the lookout for workers and/or equipment entering and exiting the roadway. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

NM 26 Bridge Rehabilitation, Deming/Nutt CN1102010

Meridian Contracting, Inc. (Contractor) has finalized the bridge rehabilitation project on NM 26 “Hatch Hwy” at milepost 26.8 near Nutt. All lanes are expected to be open for the next week. A lane closure will be in place for the replacement of the rubber strip on the bridge joint, a flagging operation will be in place. Reduced speed limits are still in place, please obey traffic control devices. Roadway will be restricted to 11-foot for oversized loads. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

NM 404 Roadway Widening, Anthony to Chaparral

Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor), will be finalizing the roadway reconstruction and lighting project on NM 404 from milepost 0.9 (Anthony) to milepost 8.8 (Chaparral). Traffic has been shifted into the correct lanes. The contractor will be finalizing concrete wall barrier, sidewalk, curb and gutter and seeding and rock placement. Intermittent lane closures may be in place as needed for finalizing the project. The speed limit has been reduced to 45 MPH for the safety of the traveling public. The contractor’s regular hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, some weekends as needed.

Chip Seal Projects, Hidalgo & Grant Co:

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will be starting the 2024 season “Chip Sealing and Brooming” operations in Hidalgo Co. in and around Animas and Hachita. Speed limits will be reduced, no center stripe with loose gravel on roadway. Roadways listed below are scheduled for chip sealing & fog sealing operations. 

NM 145 (Goat Camp Rd), milepost 0 to 3.5

NM 338, milepost 11 to 24.5 (Animas)

NM 9 to Playas, milepost 0 to 28.5 (Smelter Rd)

NM 1113 (Smelter Rd & Playas Rd) milepost 0 to 5.9

NM 113, milepost 0 (NM 9) to 20.5 (I-10)

NM 9 to Hachita, milepost 28.5 (Smelter Rd) to 44 (Hachita)

NM 146, milepost 0 (Hachita) to 19.2 (I-10)

NM 81 (NM 9 to the Mexican Border), milepost 0 to 45.8

NM 9 working east, milepost 44 (Hachita) to NM 11 (Columbus)

City of Las Cruces Projects:

Sonoma Ranch Blvd.

As part of the Sonoma Ranch Mile 1 Construction Project, Sonoma Ranch Boulevard is reduced to one lane in each direction between Sierra Ventana Avenue and Sirocco Avenue while roadway improvements are being completed. The intersection of Peachtree Hills Road and Sonoma Ranch Boulevard will be closed for approximately 1.5 months while utility and roadway improvements are being completed. Detours will be in place directing traffic around the road closure.  Commuters are urged to follow all posted signs. The entire project is estimated to be completed by April 2024.

Bellamah Drive

Las Cruces Motorist are advised that Bellamah Dr. from S. Locust St. to S. Lees Dr. will be continuing with utility improvements and roadway improvements by A-Mountain Construction (Contractor) as part of the City of Las Cruces Bellamah Drive Reconstruction Project. Construction and the road closure is estimated to last until approximately June 2024 for phase 2. Resident access will be maintained at all times. Signage and detours will be present directing traffic around the work zone.

West Picacho Avenue (US 70)

Las Cruces motorists are advised that West Picacho Avenue (US 70) from 3rd Street to 5th Street will have lane closures in the westbound, and eastbound, outside lanes. Additionally, 4th Street will be closed to access West Picacho Avenue. The closures will be in place during working hours, 7 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, and are estimated to last through June 2024.

I-10 West will be closed from David Road to Vinton Road

North Desert Boulevard will be reduced to one lane at David Road.

DETOUR: Continue on North Desert Boulevard and re-enter I-10 past Vinton.

Crews will be placing bridge deck.

8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

I-10 West, which is detoured onto North Desert Boulevard, will be reduced to one lane between Enchanted Hills Drive and David Road.

Crews will be working on a retaining wall.

Monday, April 22

9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-10 East will be closed from Vinton Road to Transmountain Road.

Los Mochis Drive will be closed at South Desert Boulevard.

DETOUR: Take Exit 2 (Spur 37/Vinton Road/Westway Drive), turn right on Vinton Road, left on Doniphan Drive, left on Talbot Avenue, right on South Desert Boulevard.

Crews will be re-opening eastbound I-10 to two lanes between Vinton and Transmountain.

Tuesday, April 23

9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-10 East will be closed from Transmountain Road to Redd Road.

South Desert Boulevard will be reduced to one lane from Artcraft Road to Redd Road.

DETOUR: Continue on South Desert Boulevard, re-enter I-10 past Redd Road.

7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Westbound Transmountain Road will be closed at Northwestern Drive.

DETOUR: Take Exit 11B (Northwestern Drive/Resler Drive), continue on the Frontage Road, and re-enter the main lanes past Northwestern.

Crews will be removing concrete safety barriers.

Beginning on Wednesday, April 24, at 5 a.m.

The direct connector ramp from westbound Transmountain Road to eastbound I-10 will re-open to traffic.

Wednesday, April 24

9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

South Desert Boulevard will be closed between Redd Road and Thorn Avenue.

The turnaround from North Desert Boulevard to South Desert Boulevard at Redd Road will be closed.

SOUTH DESERT DETOUR: Turn right on Redd Road, left on Doniphan Drive, left on Mesa Street, right on South Desert Boulevard.

Crews will be placing concrete safety barriers.

Thursday, April 25

9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

North Desert Boulevard will be closed between Thorn Avenue and Redd Road.

DETOUR TO REDD ROAD: Continue on westbound I-10, take Exit 8 (SH 178/Artcraft Road), turn left on Artcraft, left on South Desert, continue to Redd Road.

Crews will be placing concrete safety barriers.

50-hour lane closure

Friday, April 26 at 9 p.m. through Monday, April 29 at 9 a.m.

I-10 East and West will be reduced to one lane between Redd Road and Artcraft Road.

Redd Road will be closed between North Desert Boulevard and South Desert Boulevard.

WESTBOUND REDD ROAD DETOUR: Turn right on North Desert, left on Artcraft, right on Redd Road.

EASTBOUND REDD ROAD DETOUR: Turn right on South Desert, left on Thorn, left or right on Redd Road.

Crews will begin preparing to widen the Redd Road overpass.
