Albuquerque, NM — [September 29, 2025] — New Mexico Family Action Movement is announcing the launch of My Kid, My Choice (MKMC), a statewide initiative to protect parental rights and equip families to guide their children's education, healthcare, and moral development.
Built on the principle "My Kid. My Responsibility. My Choice." this initiative provides practical resources such as opt-out forms, "know your rights" guides, and checklists to keep parents engaged and informed.
"Every parent deserves to know what their child is being taught and exposed to." said Jodi Hendricks, Executive Director of NM FAM. "My Kid, My Choice is about making sure families have transparency and the tools to make the best decisions for their kids."
This initiative will begin by putting critical resources directly in parents' hands through the online Opt Out forms for elementary school through high school, available on the website.
The campaign's focus also includes:
Curriculum transparency and opt-out rights
School choice and parental control
Medical Decisions without parental involvement
Graphic, sexually explicit materials in public schools
Grounded in constitutional precedent, this initiative reflects the truth affirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court: parents—not government—have the fundamental right to direct their children's upbringing.
"Government doesn't raise children—parents do," Hendricks added. "New Mexico families need to know their rights and be confident in using them."
