$330K community investment
DEMING- A $330,000 roadway crack sealing project on Business Loop 22 (Pine Street) is scheduled to begin Monday night, September 8, 2025.
Crack sealing involves applying specialized sealants into cracks in asphalt or concrete surfaces. This process is critical in preventing moisture from penetrating the pavement, which can cause further deterioration and lead to costly repairs. By sealing these cracks, pavement integrity is preserved, and roadway life is significantly extended.
Work will take place nightly for approximately 14 days, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Residents along Pine Street may experience some noise during operations, but the contractor will make efforts to minimize disruptions.
The project will extend along Pine Street from milepost 0 to milepost 4.2. During construction, single-lane closures will be in effect in both eastbound and westbound directions throughout work hours.
Motorists should anticipate delays and are advised to plan travel accordingly. Drivers are reminded to use caution in the work zone, obey all posted signs and detours, reduce speed, and remain alert for construction personnel and equipment.
Dismuke Construction Co. has been contracted to complete the work.
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) remains committed to the safety of all road users and appreciates the public's patience and cooperation during this necessary work. For the latest updates, visit www.nmroads.com or dial 511.
