Interstates:
I-10 Bridge Repairs, Mile Marker 24, Lordsburg
Hasse Construction Co. (Construction) has begun reconstruction of the I-10 bridge at exit 24. The westbound lanes of Interstate 10 at Exit 24, near Lordsburg, will have lane closures in place in either the driving or passing lane as needed for construction activities. Motorists should expect delays and follow posted signage. The contractor's working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. This road work is expected to be completed by spring 2026.
I-25 and US 70 overnight on/off ramp closures, Las Cruces Tuesday
Highway Maintainers will close all I-25 northbound and southbound access ramps from US 70, as well as all US 70 eastbound and westbound access ramps from I-25, early Tuesday morning for barrier wall cleaning and roadway sweeping. The closure will begin at 12 a.m. on Tuesday and remain in place until 6 a.m. Drivers should expect delays and rerouting, as ramp access will not be permitted during this time.
I-25, Geological Testing, Mile Marker 106 to 108, T or C Nogal Canyon
WSP (Contractor) will be completing testing to soils along I-25 from mile marker 106 to 108 in the northbound and southbound lanes as needed for the Nogal Canyon Bridge Project. Speed limits will be reduced, and travelers can expect lane closures in the work zones. Working hours will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is expected to be completed by December 23, 2025.
I-25 Business Loop Roadway Rehabilitation Project, T or C Downtown
This upcoming safety initiative will modify the roadway striping to mitigate municipal safety concerns about fire truck access while still addressing the key concerns identified in the safety plan. The road diet enhancement project does specifically target traffic calming and driver guiding to enhance safety for all roadway users.
New Pavement Markings: We're reconfiguring the road markings to mitigate municipal safety concerns while maintaining the road diet concept. Upgraded Signs & New Installations: Keep an eye out for new and clearer signs to guide you along the road with ease. Delineator Systems: These new markers will improve visibility and prevent vehicles from accidentally entering into the bikeway. Other Construction Enhancements: Various updates, including radar speed feedback units, will support the road users, ensuring smoother and safer traffic flow for everyone.
What's Next: These upgrades will be observed and evaluated to determine if future improvements would further enhance the safety on the road. This project has been funded through the NMDOT Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) and will be let for construction in the Winter of 2025.
I-25 Business Loop Manhole Repairs Project, T or C Downtown
A Mountain Const. (Contractor) will begin repairs to manhole covers along the I-25 Business Loop on Date Street, Broadway and Main Street. Beginning Monday, Dec. 15, drivers should expect occasional closures of shoulders and side streets as crews remove and replace manhole covers and concrete at designated locations. The work may result in intermittent delays in some areas. Contractor working hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Repairs are scheduled to be completed by Friday, Dec. 19, weather permitting.
US Roadways:
US 180 Signalization, Lighting Project, Mile Marker 113.140 to 118.951, Silver City CN#1101841
RT Electric, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing with the installation of roadway lighting and signalization along US 180 in Arenas Valley. Shoulder work will be in place for the contractor as needed for cleanup activities. Areas of narrow shoulders may require lane closures. Contractors' working hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and they may work on Saturdays, depending on the weather conditions. This project is expected to be completed by winter 2025.
US 180 Signalization Project, US 180 and Gold at Railroad, Pine, Cedar & Ash St., Deming
RT Electric, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing with the installation of roadway signalization, curb & gutter, new ADA ramps, median curbs, signage and striping along US 180 and Gold Street at Railroad, Pine, Cedar and Ash St. Shoulder work and lane closures will be in place for the safety of the contractor and traveling public. Lane closures in the driving lanes along Pine Street at the Gold St. intersection will be in place for the safety of the traveling public and work crews. Sidewalk closures should be expected. Contractors' working hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This project is expected to be completed by January 2026.
US 70 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 170 to 161, Organ
Mountain States Constructors, Inc., (Contractor) is continuing a roadway rehabilitation project on US 70 on both eastbound and westbound lanes of US 70 from mile marker 170, about 8 miles east of Organ, to mile marker 161, about 1 mile west of Organ. The contractor will begin at the WSMR entrance, milling and paving ramps before moving to US 70. Work hours will be 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the possibility of weekend work. Drivers are urged to reduce speed and obey all traffic control devices. Speed limits will be reduced in the work zones. This project is expected to take 12 working days and be completed by December 23, 2025, weather permitting.
US 70, Driveway Access, Mile Marker 154, Las Cruces
Warwick Construction Co. (Contractor) will be adding in turning lane, driveway access and restriping the westbound lane of US 70 frontage road, Bataan Memorial Rd. for a new business. Shoulder work will be in place with reduced speed limits. Working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. This project is expected to be completed by January 15, 2026.
State Roadways:
NM 26, Roadway Rehabilitation, Mile Marker 0 to 10, Deming
Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) has begun the Roadway Rehabilitation Project on NM 26 from mile marker 0, at the U.S. 180 intersection, to mile marker 10. Drivers are urged to reduce speed and obey all traffic control devices. Oversize and overweight loads will not be permitted on this route during this time. A temporary traffic signal, flagging and pilot car operation will be in place 24/7, and speed limits will be reduced to 35 mph or lower. Contractor working hours will be 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the possibility of weekend work. Roadwork will run from Dec. 1 through Dec. 23, then suspend for the holidays. All traffic impacts will be removed during the suspension. Operations will resume Jan. 8, 2026.
NM 101, University Ave Multimodal Project, Mesilla LC00290
La Calerita Construction, LLC. (Contractor) will be continuing the multi-modal project on University Avenue/New Mexico State Road 101 from Avenida de Mesilla to South Main Street. Phase 3 Construction has begun. Traffic Impacts: During this phase, the following traffic impacts will be in place:
Only one lane of eastbound traffic will be open on NM 101 (University Ave) between Avenida de Mesilla and S Main Street Traffic heading westbound will be detoured to W Union Ave.
Boldt Street is open first to provide access to eastbound University Ave/NM 101 with Teresita Street closed.
Then, Teresita Street will be open, and Boldt Street will be closed. Both streets will not be closed at the same time. Also, currently Old Farm is closed, and Stanford is open. When construction is completed near Old Farm, it will be opened, and Stanford will be closed. Streets will not be closed at the same time to provide access to eastbound University Ave/NM 101.
Regular work hours are Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends as needed. Additional construction will follow this phase, with the project expected to be completed in fall 2026. All construction is weather permitting and is subject to change without notice.

NM 169, Sewer Line Installation, Mile Marker 23 to 29, Alamo
Smith Co. Construction (Contractor) will be installing a sewer line along NM 169 from mile marker 23 to 29, shoulder work with occasional lane closures may be in place. Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and work is expected to be completed by March 30, 2026.
NM 11, Box Culvert, Mile Marker .08, Columbus Port of Entry
Morrow Ent. Inc. (Contractor) will be constructing a concrete box at the intersection of NM 11 and El Paso Ave, just north of the Port of Entry. Speed limits will be reduced, please obey traffic control devices. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and work is expected to be completed by spring 2026.
Chip Seal Projects, Luna Co:
NM 9, Fog Sealing, Mile Marker 87 to 116, Columbus
NMDOT Maintainers will be assisting Seal Master with Fog Sealing operations on NM 9 from Columbus to the Dona Ana/Luna County line. A pilot car operation will be in place. Hours of operation will be Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Reduced speeds and no center striping will be in place until completion of all projects.
City of Las Cruces Projects:
Casa Linda Acres Subdivision
As part of the Casa Linda Acres Reconstruction Project, Spartan Construction of NM, LLC, will be maintaining road closures on Avenida Blanco from South Valley Drive to Calle Del Encanto, and on Calle Del Sol from Avenida de Mesilla to West Brown Road. Closures will be implemented through January 2, 2026. Access will be maintained for residents; motorists are urged to follow all posted signs.
N. Melendres St.
Las Cruces Motorist are advised that N. Melendres St. between W. Hadley Ave. and W. Mountain Ave. is scheduled to undergo roadway and utility improvements by A-Mountain Construction as part of the City of Las Cruces N. Melendres St. Reconstruction Project. Work will begin September 15, and the closure is estimated to last approximately 3 months in duration for phase 1. During construction, access to N. Melendres St. will not be permitted to through traffic. Signage and detours will be present directing traffic around the work zone.
East Mesa Roads & Drainage - Cortez Drive Improvements
As part of the Cortez Drive Improvements, roadway, storm drainage, and utility improvements will be conducted by Caliper Construction (Contractor) on Cortez Drive between Porter Drive and Dunn Drive. Cortez will be closed to through traffic. Detours will be in place directing traffic around the road closure. Access will be maintained for residents; motorists are urged to follow all posted signs. The entire project is estimated to be completed by December 2025.
