Grant County is thrilled to introduce TextMyGov, a convenient and smart text messaging service. This service will enable residents to effortlessly receive important notifications and easily find specific information by texting the County. This solution will allow the County to have a centralized management portal to send out mass notifications to residents in the County. These notifications will be along the lines of emergencies, events, closures, severe weather alerts, etc. TextMyGov will also be the new IPAWS Alert Origination Software Provider for the County which will allow the County to continue to send the same IPAWS emergency alerts/messages that were used during the Trout Fire.
Additionally, part of TextMyGov is a resident reporting system, which will allow residents to text in and report various things they may encounter throughout the County. These can be things such as road hazards - like trees that have fallen in the road after a storm or Code Enforcement concerns, or for Animal Control concerns. Residents will also have the ability to upload photos in their reports to provide more detail.
Grant County will officially launch the new text messaging system to the public on January 12, 2026. Residents may receive a text message from 80946 from the County initiating the service. You can choose to opt-out at any time by texting STOP.
If you don't receive the initial message, you can choose to opt-in by texting the keyword "GRANT CO" to the number 80946. After sending the initial keyword, you will be asked to reply "YES" to confirm opt-in. Residents may receive notifications for emergencies, events, closures, county wide updates, etc.
You will also receive a contact card for the County's two-way texting number. Save this to your phone and text it to find information and report issues. Even though this card is sent from the number 80946, the number you are saving is 575-574-4607.
The County's use of this technology is another example of how our community enhances resident services by implementing modern solutions. We're excited about this new way of communicating with residents and look forward to sharing important Countywide notifications.
