Albuquerque – A new report produced by Power The Future is shining the light on how environmentalists, including those in New Mexico, are fostering a troublesome alliance with China. Additionally, an examination of some solar projects in New Mexico reveals taxpayer dollars used to purchase renewable products made in China despite an abysmal record on human rights and environmental protection.

For years, China has increased their dominance in the market of Rare Earth Elements (REE) and made the country the largest producer of solar panels on the planet. In New Mexico, these solar panels were then installed in locations in Albuquerque such as the BioPark and Ladera Golf Course using taxpayer funds. Given China's position as the largest manufacturer of solar panels, it's unlikely these are the only locations with such products in our state.

"New Mexico's energy workers play a key role in making sure our country is energy independent and the green agenda not only undermines their work, but also our national security," said Western States Director Larry Behrens. "Every time a new solar panel is installed in our state, each New Mexican should be looking at where it is made, and wondering if it's worth the real cost."
