Yes, I'm old and I have old eyes, but why are too many obviously young folks with good eyes, deciding that public documents should be in gray, instead of dark black?
I'm sure they think it's pretty, and maybe it is to them, but not to oldsters who might like to read the documents, too!
And not only that, but some seem to like all capital letters, which I had already found hard to read all my life. It's much easier to read (for me, anyway) letters that vary in size.
And then, in addition to the "pretty" gray, they want to use italics, which in my opinion, should be only for completely differentiating some words from others, not the whole sentence, if it's not for a good reason, such a quote from a book..
And don't get me started on script fonts. They should be used in moderation to substitute for a signature or maybe on a greeting card, but not in a public announcement.
Yes, I'm mostly on a computer, so I can enlarge the offending small, gray, italic or script print, but may I say I feel like I'm being discriminated against?!
Old folks like to read, too, probably more than many young folks today!
Cut it with the "pretty" and make it usable and readable for everyone.
I'm afraid I could go on, but I'll stop here!
