Make Your Own Kaleidoscope
Saturday, November 19, 2016, 10:30am - 03:00pm |
Kids of all ages can learn to construct and decorate their own kaleidoscopes. Using cardboard tubes, beads, sequins, and silver acetate sheets, we will see the patterns that form when you hold your kaleidoscope up to a light source. We will talk about light as a form of energy and how it is important to seeing color. Playing with reflective objects, we will discuss how the reflection of light allows us to see the colorful images of a kaleidoscope and the patterns it creates. Join in on this science-based activity as we learn how a kaleidoscope works while making your own!
