"The Bridge Community – Services for Seniors,” at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Silver City
Sunday, January 16, 2022, 10:00am - 06:00pm |
Aimee Jaurequi, Bridge Community board president, will discuss the non-profit organization established in 2012 to create a transitional living community for seniors in Grant County. The development of an affordable housing community, with transitional care services, has proven to be challenging but remains the goal of the organization.
As the Bridge Community board continues to raise funds and explore various housing options, the needs of seniors to safely remain at home often go unmet. To help address these needs, the Bridge Community is seeking additional members to assist in the creation of a “Village”, based on a national volunteer network model to help seniors age-in-place, as long as possible.
“The Village model is endorsed by AARP and aims to support the medical, functional, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of older adults,” Jaurequi said.
Join us to learn more about this proposed new option to help seniors remain in their homes as long as possible.
