“A net-zero future is possible, but first we need to flip a mental switch to truly understand that we can stop the climate crisis if we try,” said Nobel laureate Al Gore.
In this inspiring and essential talk from October 2021, Gore shares examples of extreme climate events such as fires, floods and atmospheric tsunamis, identifies the man-made systems holding us back from progress and invites us all to join the movement for climate justice. "It’s the biggest emergent social movement in all of history," he said.
This is an important message on the current state of the crisis -- and the transformations that will make it possible to find a way out of it.
Former Vice President Al Gore is a Nobel Laureate who focused the world's attention on the global climate crisis.
After the presentation, Carol Morrison will lead a discussion on this vital topic.
There will also be a welcoming ceremony for several new members.
We may have the back door open and ceiling fans going, so please bring a jacket to stay warm.
