"Letting Go, Seeing Forward, Being Now," at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
Sunday, September 18, 2022, 10:00am |
Connie Thibeau-Catsis, Ph.D., will talk about the challenges of looking back over one’s life in the light of forgiveness, seeing forward into our changing lives, and the practice of being now.
Thibeau-Catsis has spoken several times at the Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship since retiring from Arizona State University where she was a professor in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design. Her research area concerns creativity and well being in university environments and its influence on self-actualization as one ages.
Elise Stuart will be reading two poems during the presentation. She was Grant County's Poet Laureate from 2014-2017. Stuart currently leads a poetry group in Silver City, as well as hosting monthly poetry events at the Tranquilbuzz Coffee House.
Please join us before the service for a drum circle commemorating one of the four solar festivals of the year. We’ll be meeting on the Fellowship patio at 9:30 am for a Fall Equinox celebration. All are welcome. Bring your drums, rattles, bells, and other percussion instruments. Or else you can use your chanting voice and your dancing moves. No formal program - just let nature take its course!
There are speakers on the patio if you wish to enjoy the service outside.
UUFSC Safety Protocol as pursuant to our most recent UUA Guidelines:
We will not be serving food or drinks in the building until further notice. Masks will still need to be worn at all times indoors and out, except when eating or drinking. We will continue to serve refreshments on the patio, weather permitting. Visitors are always welcome.
