Pinos Altos Volunteer Fire and Rescue Community Barbecue and Open House
Saturday, October 15, 2022, 11:00am - 03:00pm |
Held at the Pinos Altos station, an Old West-inspired building that sits at the Continental Divide along New Mexico Highway 15, the event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and promises complimentary hot dogs, burgers and activities for the whole family.
“This is an opportunity to meet first responders who will be there for you when you call 9-1-1. It’s also a way to discover more about the emergency services that the county volunteer fire departments provide to the community,” said Department Chief Ed Downard.
Whether prospective members, residents of the district, or families looking for an educational outing and some lovingly grilled grub, attendees can explore firefighting and EMS displays, try out equipment commonly carried on Pinos Altos Volunteer Fire and Rescue rigs, and watch demonstrations.
A boot will be provided for those inclined to donate to the Friends of the Pinos Altos Fire and Rescue Volunteers, which is the related nonprofit that supports volunteer activities and provides responders with rehabilitation supplies during lengthy calls and training exercises.
