Light Art Space Gallery Hosts Month-Long Exhibit Downtown

An exclusive Silver City, New Mexico, showing! Come see this special selection of Mac's serigraphs, lithographs, and drawings on display in the Flash Gallery of Light Art Space from February 6th through March 1st. The gallery will open on Friday, February 6, 5:00-7:00 pm, for the town's monthly Art Walk with refreshments to be served.

Mac didn't take many photographs of her beloved desert and canyon landscapes. Instead, she observed carefully and worked from memory, never painting from photos. To provide context, we selected a series of landscapes by Larry Ollivier to augment the illustrations in Mac's book. During February, a group of his remarkable black-and-white prints will be displayed alongside Mac's artworks at Light Art Space's Flash Gallery. The gallery also will include a rotating slideshow featuring even more of both artists' works.

On Sunday, February 8th, from 3:00 to 4:30, Ann will share stories about Mac's adventures in the Southwest. Join us in downtown Silver City at the Light Art Space's back studio for her illustrated talk and a following reception with refreshments and a booksigning.

And on Saturday, January 31st, from 9:00-12 noon, just down the road at the Amerind Museum in Dragoon, Arizona--if you're a member of the Friends of Western Art (or deciding to join) you can attend Ann's talk, preview the museum's "Stormy Days--Rain in the West" exhibition, and enjoy a members' brunch.
