Today, the Governor called on the Legislature to codify her climate action plan through the Clear Horizons bill.
House Republicans strongly oppose this effort.
"Today, the Governor doubled down on her failed energy agenda by calling on the Legislature to codify her so-called climate action plan through the Clear Horizons bill. This is not about clean energy. It is about government mandates, higher utility bills, and putting New Mexico's grid and economy at risk.
Families are already struggling to afford groceries, gas, and rent, and now the Governor wants to lock in policies that will make electricity more expensive and less reliable. House Republicans will not support reckless energy mandates that drive up costs, chase jobs out of our state, and leave working families paying the price.
New Mexico deserves an energy policy that is affordable, reliable, and realistic, not one built on ideology and empty promises."
-House Republican Leader Gail ArmstrongĀ
House Republicans will continue to fight for energy policies that keep power affordable, reliable, and available for New Mexico families and businesses.
