My name is Danny Legarda, I am asking for your on vote November 4th.
I am running for, Municipal Judge City of Bayard.
I have lived in Bayard my entire life, and I have made a career of serving the people of Grant County.
I am a retired Grant County Sheriffs Deputy.
I retired as a Senior Sergeant.
One of my duties as a department supervisor for the Sheriffs Office was the charge over the Civil Process Division.
The Civil Process Division.
Civil Process Deputies are in charge of due process, the execution of various court orders, working wants and warrants, property seizures, evictions, domestic violence orders, various other orders of the courts, in a knowledgeable, peaceful and lawful manner.
Other responsibilities included surveillance, the transfer of individuals in custody to and from courts, prisons, and jail facilities, as well as making the courts safe in high profile cases.
The Civil Division plays a crucial role in the Sheriffs Department and it is a vital link between the courts and law enforcement agencies.
Knowledge ofCourt room procedures and proper court etiquette is very important.
Officers assigned to the Civil Process Division hold many responsibilities and are not excluded of any of the duties of other Sheriffs Deputies.
Over the years as Sergeant of the Civil Process Division I became familiar with court room procedures, proceedings and local laws.
I attended specialized training and classes, many classes that would be relevant in the court system.
Among the different classes I attended were, vehicle crash investigation, search and seizure of property and motor vehicles, traffic control, neighbor disputes, domestic violence matters and many other interpersonal relations classes throughout my working career.
I was a member of the Departments SRT (special response team) we focused on quick thinking, making the best decisions for the dangerous situations at hand and tending to the problem at hand as safely and as quickly as possible.
I would say that some of the best education I received was not only through WNMU, but also through my online Diaconal Education courses that I attended through, Pontifical College Josephinum, Dayton Catholic University, my Diaconal formation classes and my current classes through the Institute of Catholic Culture. I believe the education I have received through these classes would be relevant to this position. Learning the diversity of working individually with the public is very important in making a good judge.
Perhaps to me the most valuable of my education came from my father and my mother who taught me "the school of hard knocks" for me this would be "the school of hard work", a good work ethic, responsibility and holding my faith in God above everything, and treating everyone with respect.
I have been blessed to have been able to become a supervisor in every job I have had, and I owe it to my parents for the work ethic instilled in me.
I would like to bring my knowledge of law enforcement, court room procedures and interpersonal relations abilities together to try to make the best Municipal Judge I can be to serve the citizens of Bayard.
Your vote on November 4th would be greatly appreciated.
