Silver City, NM, June 29, 2025–PFLAG Silver City invites members, family and friends of the LGBTQ+ community to march in the July 4th parade. The parade begins at 10:00 AM, and line-up will be on 12th Street in Silver City.
"The parade theme is 'America the Beautiful,' and for so many of us here in Grant County, beauty lies in the celebration of human diversity and resilience," says PFLAG spokesperson Damie Nelson. "The majority of Americans have LGBTQ+ family, friends and neighbors, and marching with PFLAG is one way to show support for them. So whether you walk the entire parade route with us or get off the curb and walk with us for just a few blocks, your participation sends a message of hope and inclusion."
"The parade usually lines up on 12th Street. You can find PFLAG by looking for the rainbows," Nelson continues. "This is a family-friendly event. You can wear rainbow colors and t-shirts that champion equality. You can make a poster to carry or wave an American flag. Be prepared to smile—you are leading with love." Marchers are encouraged to dress appropriately for the heat and sun. Water for marchers will be provided.
PFLAG is the nation's largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them. For more information, call PFLAG Silver City at 575-590-8797 or go to www.pflag.org.
