Calling Grant County Juniors and Seniors:
The New Mexico Department of Transportation and Breaking Bad Habits initiative have announced a unique opportunity for young people of Grant County to gain environmental leadership experience through the Land of Enchantment Young Ambassador Program. The Young Ambassador Program is part of a statewide initiative to inspire and train the next generation of leaders in environmental stewardship. Through hands-on projects, youth will not only protect our environment today but also learn how to create lasting change for tomorrow.
This nine-month, paid internship is designed for high school junior and senior students who want to play an active role in protecting and beautifying their environment. Young Ambassadors will receive mentorship from community leaders and local non-profits to design and implement projects that improve water quality, reduce litter, and inspire others to take pride in our shared landscapes—from the greater Gila and Mimbres River watersheds to our neighborhood streets.
