Bureau of Land Management Las Cruces District is hosting a community meeting to share information about planned prescribed fire activities.
The meeting is set for 5 p.m on Thursday, September 11, at Pinos Altos Volunteer Fire & Rescue Station 1. (This is the firehouse that sits at the Continental Divide along New Mexico Highway 15 and is recognizable for its Old West-inspired façade.)
BLM Las Cruces District Fuels Specialist Jon Selby will be presenting. BLM Las Cruces District Manager Scott Cooke will be available to answer questions and offer additional insight. BLM Las Cruces District Fuels Technician Marcos Muñoz will also be in attendance. They will provide residents and members of the general public with information about upcoming prescribed burns on BLM land around Pinos Altos. Plans to conduct prescribed burns this fall are dependent on conditions with fuels and national fire activity.
