We'd like to invite you to join us in honoring our loved ones who have passed. The Dia de los Muertos parade has become a beloved Silver City tradition, where community members paint their faces, dress up, maybe carry a banner, a photo of a loved one, or something meaningful to them, and walk together through the streets to show our love and care for those who have passed over.
This year, the parade will happen on Sunday, November 2nd at 2 pm.
Please gather at the Grant County Community Foundation building at 1106 N Pope Street, near Gough Park. The parade will walk down Bullard Street and end up at the mural on the side of the Silver City Museum.
We will have face-painting available at the Community Foundation—please come early as there will be a line! Face painting happens between 11 and 1:30
If you want to join in the parade, please arrive no later than 1:30 pm. Dress any way you like (except no Halloween costumes, please).
We will need hands to help carry banners and pull giant puppets and more! If you would like to help, please show up early and find Maria or Diana.
Thank you for joining us in carrying on this important tradition!
Maria Casler, Diana Ingalls, and Sarah Zamora
