'Special Detail' designations in the Grant County Sheriff's Office blotters refer to activity in one of several grant-funded programs. One of these is Stonegarden. Other special details have not been identified in the blotters.

Stonegarden refers to a grant administered by the Department of Homeland Security funding local law enforcement agencies to assist the U.S. Border Patrol in border security efforts.

Other special details not identified in the blotters may be one of the following:

STEP – Selective Traffic Enforcement Program. This is a program grant-funded by the New Mexico Department of Transportation to promote traffic safety and DWI enforcement.

LDWI – Local Driving While Intoxicated program. This is a grant from the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration aimed at reducing alcohol-related accidents.

OHV – Off-Highway Vehicle program. This is a grant program for law-enforcement overtime to determine if these vehicles are being operated safely and legally.
