Lotus Center, a Silver City-based nonprofit yoga and meditation center, will be holding a dedication of a prayer wheel on Friday, July 11, at 12:45 PM.

A prayer wheel is a cylindrical wheel—commonly made of metal, wood, or stone—that is installed on a spindle. It's filled, literally, with millions of prayers of compassion and kindness. In addition to prayers of compassion, the inside of the wheel will be filled with other sacred offerings. The offerings have been donated by members of the southwest New Mexico community.

The prayer wheel is non-denominational and will represent all religions and spiritual paths.

The construction and dedication of the prayer wheel is part of Lotus Center's 10-year anniversary celebration. The dedication will be held in front of the Lotus Center building at 211 W. Broadway, is free of charge, and is open to the public.
