Morning Jazz Medley at Silver City Public Library ThursdayThe Silver City Public Library is pleased to announce a free library concert with Felix Galanti playing jazz vibraphone on Thursday, September 25, 10:30am. The concert is free thanks to the generous support of the Friends of the Library!
Having played across the country, Galanti brings a vast experience to this one-of-a-kind live show. Versed in nine styles of jazz, listeners can expect to be treated to Brazilian, Latin, Smooth, Fusion, and more! Galanti will survey the contemporary social history of the different styles of Jazz and how they have become mainstream to a lesser or greater degree over time. He will show how he has come to adapt them in order to stay marketable in today's music scene, and how he adapts mallet instruments that are performed so rarely by most musicians these days. You won't want to miss this unique performance that has been described as electric.
"I'm happy to host a performance by Felix Galanti again this year. He is engaging and his concert is pleasantly interactive," said Lillian Galloway, library assistant director. "Our thanks, as always, go to the Friends of the Library for making the events possible."
