FFClassSILVER CITY, NM — The Future Forge Makerspace is thrilled to reflect on a wonderful start to the summer season, beginning with an incredible turnout at the 30th Annual Silver City Blues Festival held at Gough Park. Our interactive booth became a hub of creativity and curiosity, drawing hundreds of visitors who experienced hands-on demonstrations, learned about our mission, and discovered all the ways they can get involved.

From children to adults experimenting with basic 3D printing, the weekend was a vibrant reminder of how creativity and technology bring people together. "We were truly honored to be part of such a beloved community event," said a representative from The Future Forge. "The energy, the conversations, and the enthusiasm for making and learning were just amazing."

Kicking Off Free Summer of Science For Local Youth

The momentum didn't stop at the park. Just days after the festival, we launched our free Summer of Science Youth Program for students in grades 3–12, and it's already making waves. Designed to spark imagination and nurture problem-solving skills, this hands-on program blends experimentation, teamwork, and real-world applications. Students are building, testing, questioning, and exploring engineering concepts with great instructors and engaging

workspaces. Many thanks to Silver Plate Catering for their sponsorship of nourishing meals provided to our students for free.

This youth-focused program runs through mid-July, with each session built to inspire the next generation of scientists, inventors, and makers. Whether they're learning about biology and irrigation or investigating physics through motion and energy, these young learners are getting a strong head start on becoming tomorrow's innovators.
