JackBrennanNovember 9, at 10:00 am, 3845 North Swan Street – "Grant County Prospectors"

Jack Brennan will be speaking about the Grant County Prospectors and what they do for the county. He will give a brief history of the Prospectors and how they achieve their goals every year, including how they have helped the Tour of the Gila prosper.

"The goal of the Grant County Prospectors is to, every year, educate policy makers and community members about the economic, community development, and legislative needs for the advancement of Grant County," Brennan said.

Jack Brennan was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from Georgetown University with a BA in Economics, and later graduated from Indiana University school of Public and Environmental Affairs with a master's degree in environmental affairs.

Brennan moved to Silver City in 1977, where he met Nancy Booth whom he married in 1980. Together they raised two children in Silver City.

From 1977 to 1988 he worked at and became a partner at Mershon's Cabinet Shop, and then in 1988 he started Gila Hike and Bike with Michael Sauber. He retired from there in 2016.

"I started working with the Tour of the Gila in 1989. My first job with the tour was to sell Tour of the Gila shirts. In 2000, I became the director of the Tour of the Gila.   I attempted to retire as the director in 2016. That didn't work," he said.

"I am still the race director and now have an excellent social media person named Jennifer Olson, and a board of directors," he added.

Jack Brennan has been a member of Grant County Prospectors since 2017.

Childcare is available every Sunday. Zoey Cronin will lead a formal children's program on second and fourth Sundays.  This Sunday will be a Children's RE program.
