(Albuquerque, NM) – Twenty-one students from ACE Leadership High School in Albuquerque, Silver High in Silver City, Cliff High School in Cliff, and Cobre Consolidated High School in Bayard were honored by PNM and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers as the 2025 graduating class of PNM Power Pros program.

"PNM's investment in PNM Power Pros is an investment in our youth, our future, and our state," said Don Tarry, President and CEO of PNM. "We are committed to supporting New Mexico schools and communities, and we believe that developing a high-skilled energy workforce is crucial for tomorrow."

PNM Power Pros is a 15-week career and technical education (CTE) program to prepare high school students across New Mexico for careers in the electric utility industry. Graduates of the program earn OSHA 10 certification and receive CTE course credits. According to data from the U.S. Department of Education, students who concentrate on CTE courses in high school tend to have higher median annual earnings eight years after their expected graduation date compared to their peers who do not.

PNM Power Pros launched during the fall 2024 semester in partnership with ACE Leadership High School and Silver High. The program expanded in spring 2025 to include Cliff High School and Cobre Consolidated High School.

Looking ahead to the upcoming fall semester, the program is set to grow even further. Multiple schools in Central and Southern New Mexico, in collaboration with UNM Valencia County campus, will join the PNM Power Pros program. Additionally, Deming High School will incorporate the program into its after-school curriculum.

Over the past five years, PNM shareholders, along with the PNM Resources Foundation, have contributed more than $20 million in targeted support to the communities and customers PNM serves.
