Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing a roadway rehabilitation project on Interstate 25 from milepost 58(Caballo) to milepost 78 (Las Palomas) in Sierra County. Drivers can expect various daytime lane closures on the Northbound Driving Lane and possible closures on the Southbound Driving Lane starting paving operations. A 12-foot width restriction is in place throughout the project, oversized loads will require a permit. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

I-10 and NM 404(O'Hara Rd.) Bridge, Nighttime Bridge Preservation Project, I-10, Anthony
Hasse Contracting Company Inc. (Contractor) has begun a nighttime bridge preservation project on the I-10 bridge at exit 162 and NM 404 (O'Hara Rd). A flagging operation will be in place Monday to Friday and 8 pm to 5 a.m. This project is expected to be completed by June 13, 2025.
I-10 and University Bridge (Triviz), Bridge Preservation Project
Hasse Contracting Company Inc. (Contractor) will begin bridge preservation project on the I-10 bridge over University Ave and Triviz. A flagging operation will be in place Saturday and Sunday, June 7 to June 8, 2025 at 7 a.m to 5 p.m. This project is expected to be completed by June 13, 2025.
I-10 Alert, Mile Marker 24, Lordsburg
The I-10 bridge is under repair at exit 24, Eastbound traffic must utilize exits 20(Lordsburg West) or 22(Lordsburg) for access to business. This closure will be in place indefinitely.
I-10 Roadway Resurfacing Project, Mile Marker 146 to 164.3, Las Cruces to Anthony
Brasier Asphalt Inc., (Contractor), will be continuing with the resurfacing project in Dona Ana Co. Starting at 5 p.m., drivers can expect lane closures in the Eastbound and Westbound passing and middle lanes between milepost 146 to milepost 156 (west of the Anthony exit). The project involves the removal and replacement of pavement. Work will take place from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday night through Friday morning. The project is expected to be completed by Friday, June 27, 2025, weather permitting.
I-10 Bridge & Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 140 to 143, Las Cruces CNLC00371
La Calerita Construction, LLC. (Contractor) will be continuing a bridge rehabilitation project on I-10 over the University Ave Interchange, milepost 141. This project includes bridge rehabilitation, roadway reconstruction and lighting. Traffic has been shifted into the Westbound lanes with the Eastbound lanes closed for bridge construction. There will be no access to the Eastbound on/off ramps and due to restricted areas in the Westbound on ramp will be closed for the duration of the traffic switch. The speed limit has been reduced to 45 MPH throughout the project. Expect delays on Main St and University Ave below the I-10 Bridges. The contractor's working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. This project is expected to be completed by July 2025.
US Roadways:
US 70 Roadway Rehabilitation, Mile Marker 149 to 150 Las Cruces LC00271
El Terrero Construction, LLC. (Contractor) is finalizing the project to make roadway improvements to US 70 North Main Street between Spitz/N. Solano Drive and the intersection of N. Triviz Drive/Elks Drive. Contractors on sight are finalizing pavement striping and dirt work for the walking path. The Alameda Arroyo Trail crossing remains closed. Access will be maintained to all businesses and residences during construction. The speed limit is reduced to 35 miles per hour throughout the construction zone. Regular work hours are Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-5 p.m., although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends if needed. US 70 Roadway Rehabilitation, Mile Marker 162 to 150, Las CrucesLC00440
Mesa Verde Enterprises, Inc. (Contractor) has continued the roadway rehabilitation project on US 70 from MP 151.5 to 161 (Roadrunner exit to town of Organ). This project will require lane closures on both the Eastbound and Westbound lanes, as well as the on/off ramps in both directions for milling, paving, concrete and installation of permanent impact attenuator operations. Construction activities will be in place on weeknights from Tuesday to Friday morning from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Weekend work will be daytime hours on Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. although the contractor may work longer hours if needed. This project is expected to be completed by July 7, 2025, depending on unforeseen circumstances or delays.
US 180 Roadway Reconstruction Project, Mile Marker 123 to 128, Hurley, CN#1101841
Mountain States Constructors, Inc., (Contractor) will be continuing with the roadway reconstruction project along US 180 from MP 123.13 in Bayard to Milepost 128.27 in Hurley. Traffic has been shifted into the Eastbound lanes so construction can continue in the Westbound lanes. A flagging operation will be in place with up to a 15-minute wait time. Please be aware that Lime Quarry Rd will have a detour starting Monday, June 2, 2025, directing drivers to seek an alternate route caution is advised as you travel through the area. Speed limits are reduced throughout the project to 45 mph, this project is a double fine zone. The contractor's working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and may work on Saturdays. This reconstruction project is expected to take just over a year to complete, depending on weather conditions.
US 180, Mile Marker 164 to 161, Deming
Cutler Repaving Inc., (Contractor) will be beginning a roadway reconstruction project along US 180 from mile marker 164 (Deming) to mile marker 161 (end of 4-lane at Riffle Range Road). This project is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, and be completed by July 2025. This structural pavement treatment involves removing the current asphalt layer and replacing it with new pavement to improve road conditions and extend roadway life. During construction, single-lane closures will be in place in both Eastbound and Westbound directions. Motorists should expect delays and are urged to plan travel accordingly. Construction will take place Monday through Sunday, from 6am to 8pm.
State Roadways:
NM 101, University Ave Multimodal Project, Mesilla LC00290
La Calerita Construction, LLC. (Contractor) will be continuing the multi-modal project on University Avenue/New Mexico State Road 101 from Avenida de Mesilla to South Main Street. The road will be closed to through traffic and a detour route is in place. University eastbound will have one lane of traffic up to McDowell PL, and University WB will have two-way traffic up to Boldt St. All local traffic will have access throughout the closure. Regular work hours are Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends as needed. Additional construction will follow this phase, with the project expected to be completed in Fall 2026.
NM 1 Channel Erosion Mitigation, Bridge Preservation Mile Marker 60.340 to 60.435, Socorro
Hasse Contracting Company Inc. (Contractor) is currently working on a bridge rehabilitation project on NM 1 at milepost 60 near Socorro. Traffic can expect a temporary traffic signal in place with only one lane open over the bridge. Speed limits will be reduced, please obey traffic control devices. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Drivers should expect delays and plan accordingly.
NM 273, Utility Work, Mile Marker 8 to 9, Santa Teresa
Nine Degree Construction (Contractor) will have lane closures in place on NM 273 and NM 136 for Utility placement. Speed limits will be reduced, please obey traffic control devices. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Drivers should expect delays and plan accordingly. This project is expected to be completed by October 27, 2025.
Chip Seal Projects, Hidalgo & Grant Co:
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will begin Chip seal operations are expected to begin on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, on roadways in the Columbus and Deming areas of Luna County. During operations, drivers can expect flagging personnel, pilot vehicles, and temporary stops. Brooming will occur during and after the sealing process. Loose gravel may remain on road surfaces for a few days post-treatment. Casa Linda Acres Subdivision
As part of the Casa Linda Acres Reconstruction Project, Spartan Construction of NM, LLC, will be maintaining road closures on Avenida Blanco from South Valley Drive to Calle Del Encanto, and on Calle Del Sol from Avenida de Mesilla to West Brown Road. Closures will be implemented through June 28, 2025. Access will be maintained for residents; motorists are urged to follow all posted signs.
East Mesa Roads & Drainage - Cortez Drive Improvements
As part of the Cortez Drive Improvements, roadway, storm drainage, and utility improvements will be conducted by Caliper Construction (Contractor) on Cortez Drive between Porter Drive and Dunn Drive. Cortez will be closed to through traffic. Detours will be in place directing traffic around the road closure. Access will be maintained for residents; motorists are urged to follow all posted signs.
