Interstates:
I-10 Bridge Repairs, Mile Marker 24, Lordsburg
Hasse Construction Co. (Construction) has begun reconstruction of the I-10 bridge at exit 24. Various lanes closures will be in place on the westbound lanes for preconstruction activities. Eastbound traffic must utilize exits 20 (Lordsburg West) or 22 (Lordsburg Main Street) for access to business. A 14-foot width restriction is in place throughout the project; oversized loads will require a permit. The contractor's work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The project is expected to be completed by December 2025.
I-10 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 35 to 44, Separ CN1101900
Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will be finalizing a roadway rehabilitation project on Interstate 10 from milepost 35 (10 miles east of Lordsburg) to milepost 44 (Separ) in Grant County. Drivers can expect various daytime lane closures on both the eastbound and westbound lanes as needed for milling and paving operations. A 12' width restriction is in place throughout the project, overside loads will need to be permitted. Areas of construction may be heavily congested. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
I-10 Bridge & Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 140 to 143, Las Cruces CNLC00371
La Calerita Construction, LLC. (Contractor) will be finalizing a bridge rehabilitation project on I-10 over the University Ave Interchange, milepost 141. All lanes are now open, if needed the contractor may have temporary lane closures in place for final repairs. High-mast lighting to be installed once received. The contractor's work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
I-10/NM 80 Bridge Work, Mile Marker 5, Lordsburg/Road Forks Area
Bixby Electric (Contractor) will be working on Bridge Deck Hangers over I-10 to NM 80(Road Forks). Lane closures will be in place in either the eastbound or westbound lanes under the bridge to provide safety for the traveling public and the contractor. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. This project is expected to be completed by October 24, 2025.
US Roadways:
US 70 Roadway Rehabilitation, Mile Marker 149 to 150 Las Cruces LC00271
El Terrero Construction, LLC. (Contractor) is finalizing the project to make roadway improvements to US 70 North Main Street between Spitz/N. Solano Drive and the intersection of N. Triviz Drive/Elks Drive. Lane closures will be required as needed for project finalization. Working hours will be overnight from 7 p.m.-6:30 a.m. This project is expected to be completed by the end of October 2025, visit www.us70mainstreet.com.
US 180, Micro Surfacing Project, Mile Marker 87 to 110, Silver City
Intermountain Slurry Seal (Contractor) will be continuing a Micro Surfacing Project on US 180 on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Work will take place between milepost 87 (Riverside) and milepost 110 (two miles west of Silver City). Lane closures and pilot car operations will be in place. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, obey traffic control devices and expect delays. Construction will run Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with completion expected by Oct. 31, weather permitting.
US 180 Roadway Reconstruction Project, Mile Marker 123 to 128, Hurley, CN#1101841
Mountain States Constructors, Inc., (Contractor) will be continuing with the roadway reconstruction project along US 180 from milepost 123.13 in Bayard to milepost 128.27 in Hurley. Various lane closures and alternating traffic patterns may be in place for paving operations. Speed limits are reduced throughout the project to 45 mph; this project is a double fine zone. The contractor's working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and crews may work on Saturdays.
US 180 Signalization, Lighting Project, Mile Marker 113.140 to 118.951, Silver City CN#1101841
RT Electric, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing with the installation of roadway lighting and signalization along US 180 in Arenas Valley. Shoulder work will be in place for the contractor to trench for conduit installation and concrete bases. Areas of narrow shoulders may require lane closures. Contractors' working hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and they may work on Saturdays, depending on the weather conditions. This project is expected to be completed by winter 2025.
US 180 Signalization Project, US 180 and Gold at Railroad, Pine, Cedar & Ash St., Deming
RT Electric, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing with the installation of roadway signalization, curb & gutter, new ADA ramps, median curbs, signage and striping along US 180 and Gold Street at Railroad, Pine, Cedar and Ash St. Shoulder work and lane closures will be in place for the safety of the contractor and traveling public. Sidewalk closures should be expected. Contractors' working hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This project is expected to be completed by December 2025.
State Roadways:
NM 101, University Ave Multimodal Project, Mesilla LC00290
La Calerita Construction, LLC. (Contractor) will be continuing the multi-modal project on University Avenue/New Mexico State Road 101 from Avenida de Mesilla to South Main Street. Phase 3 Construction has begun. Traffic Impacts: During this phase, the following traffic impacts will be in place:
Only one lane of eastbound traffic will be open on NM 101 (University Ave) between Avenida de Mesilla and S Main Street Traffic heading westbound will be detoured to W Union Ave.
Boldt Street is open first to provide access to eastbound University Ave/NM 101 with Teresita Street closed.
Then, Teresita Street will be open, and Boldt Street will be closed. Both streets will not be closed at the same time. Also, currently Old Farm is closed, and Stanford is open. When construction is completed near Old Farm, it will be opened, and Stanford will be closed. Both streets will not be closed at the same time to provide access to eastbound University Ave/NM 101.
Regular work hours are Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends as needed. Additional construction will follow this phase, with the project expected to be completed in fall 2026. All construction is weather permitting and is subject to change without notice.

NM 549, Roadway Rehabilitation, Deming
Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing roadway rehabilitation project on NM 549 from milepost 24 to 31. Drivers can expect lane closures on both the eastbound and westbound lanes of NM 549 as needed. A pilot car operation will be in place, please reduce your speed and obey traffic control devices. Roadway will be restricted to 12-foot for oversized loads. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, with the possibility of some weekend work.
NM 273, Utility Work, Mile Marker 6 to 9, Santa Teresa
Nine Degree Construction (Contractor) will have lane closures in place on NM 273 and NM 136 for Utility placement. Speed limits will be reduced, please obey traffic control devices. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Drivers should expect delays and plan accordingly. This project is expected to be completed by December 8, 2025.
NM 11, Box Culvert, Mile Marker .08, Columbus Port of Entry
Morrow Ent. Inc. (Contractor)has begun constructing a concrete box at the intersection of NM 11 and El Paso Ave, just north of the Port of Entry. Speed limits will be reduced, please obey traffic control devices. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Chip Seal Projects, Luna Co:
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will be continuing with Chip seal operations on roadways in the Columbus and Deming areas of Luna County. During operations, drivers can expect flagging personnel, pilot vehicles, and temporary stops. Brooming will occur during and after the sealing process. Loose gravel may remain on road surfaces for a few days post-treatment. Speed limits are reduced to 35 mph for the safety of the traveling public. NMDOT Maintainers will be assisting Seal Master with Fog Sealing operations on NM 81 from mile marker 0 (Antelope Wells) to mile marker 31. A pilot car operation will be in place. Hours of operation will be Monday to Thursday from 7 am to 5 pm. Reduced speeds and no center striping will be in place until completion of all projects.
City of Las Cruces Projects:
Casa Linda Acres Subdivision
As part of the Casa Linda Acres Reconstruction Project, Spartan Construction of NM, LLC, will be maintaining road closures on Avenida Blanco from South Valley Drive to Calle Del Encanto, and on Calle Del Sol from Avenida de Mesilla to West Brown Road. Closures will be implemented through January 2, 2026. Access will be maintained for residents; motorists are urged to follow all posted signs.
N. Melendres St.
Las Cruces Motorist are advised that N. Melendres St. between W. Hadley Ave. and W. Mountain Ave. is scheduled to undergo roadway and utility improvements by A-Mountain Construction as part of the City of Las Cruces N. Melendres St. Reconstruction Project. Work will begin September 15, and the closure is estimated to last approximately 3 months in duration for phase 1. During construction, access to N. Melendres St. will not be permitted to through traffic. Signage and detours will be present directing traffic around the work zone.
East Mesa Roads & Drainage - Cortez Drive Improvements
As part of the Cortez Drive Improvements, roadway, storm drainage, and utility improvements will be conducted by Caliper Construction (Contractor) on Cortez Drive between Porter Drive and Dunn Drive. Cortez will be closed to through traffic. Detours will be in place directing traffic around the road closure. Access will be maintained for residents; motorists are urged to follow all posted signs. The entire project is estimated to be completed by December 2025.
Madrid Avenue Extension Project
As part of the Madrid Avenue Extension project, Morrow Enterprises, Inc. will be doing roadway and utility work on Madrid Avenue. Morrow Enterprises will be maintaining a road closure on Madrid Avenue between Evelyn Street and Triviz Avenue. Detours will be in place directing traffic around the work zone. The closure will be implemented through October 24, 2025. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses. Commuters are urged to follow all posted signs.
