Dolores "Lola" Mata, 74, of Silver City, NM, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, at Mesilla Valley Hospice Palliative Care, in Las Cruces, NM.
Lola lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to family and friends. She will be remembered for her warmth, laughter, and the joy she brought to those around her. Though she will be deeply missed, we find comfort knowing she is now resting in everlasting peace. Lola's life was a gift, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Lola is survived by her husband Henry Joe Mata, of the family home; her sons, Anthony Mata, of CA, Henry Joe Mata, Jr. (Andrea) of Las Cruces, NM; her daughter Bobbie Jo Altamirano (Larry), of Silver City, NM; her 11 grandchildren, Erica Proffitt (Dan), Ashley Vidal (Luis), Kyndra Mata, Alexis Flores (Daniel), Hannah, Andrew, Justinne Altamirano, Eliana Mata, Emma Mata, Emilia Mata, and Henry Mata; brothers Billy Davila, of Silver City, NM, Gabriel Davila (Bernadette) of Albuquerque, NM; sisters Belen Roland (Terry) of AZ, Marie Davila, of Rio Rancho, NM; numerous nieces and nephews; She is preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer Mata; her parents Antonio and Maria Davila; and her granddaughter Gissel Mata.
Visitation will be Monday, February 2nd, from 5:30-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels. The holy rosary will commence at 6pm with Deacon Art Gutierrez reciting. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 3rd, at 11:30am at St. Vincent Catholic Church with Father Oliver Obele officiating. Concluding service interment will follow at St. Vincent Catholic cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Ryan Altamirano, Patrick Davila, Gabriel Davila, Jodan Davila, Ryan Maez, and Jeremy Kinter. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Davila, Gabriel Davila, Anthony Davila, Albert Morales, Adam Arzaga, and Joseph Quintana.
