* Until 400 PM MDT.
* At 102 PM MDT, plumes of blowing dust were developing across south-
central New Mexico. The worst visibility was occurring around
Deming south along Highway 11 towards Sunshine. This plume was
also crossing Interstate 10 just east of Deming, and stretched
northeast towards the Uvas Valley area. Another dust plume was
beginning to develop near I-10 at Separ.
HAZARD...Near zero visibility with strong winds up to 45 mph.
SOURCE...Satellite imagery.
IMPACT...Dangerous life-threatening travel.
* This includes Interstate 10 in New Mexico between mile markers 35
and 109. This warning may need to be extended later beyond 5 PM.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Dust storms lead to dangerous driving conditions with visibility
reduced to near zero. If driving, avoid dust storms if possible. If
caught in one, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your
foot off the brake.
